----------------------
In 1994, Floor finished her studies French Language & Literature (with honors) and Social Sciences at the University of Nijmegen. While working in Nijmegen at the Academic School for Computing Sciences she wrote, as an external PhD. candidate, a thesis about educational innovations in the Nijmegen Business School. She developed a research strategy which allowed her to combine methods for data collection, analysis and interpretation from both her studies. In 2000, she was awarded her PhD. That same year she started a postdoctoral research into active citizenship, a project she finished in 2002.After a long travel throughout Latin America, she founded her research agency OrléoN in 2003. OrléoN is an acronym for the Dutch phrase “Organisaties leren Onderzoeken”. In English this means both “Learning Organizations to Research” and “Learning to Research Organizations”. For clients she conducted research into the language of spatial emotions, the combat of poverty, educational innovation, soil sanitation, urban development, provision of social services and many other themes. The threat running through her work is narrative analysis, a strategy she developed for her PhD. thesis and refines since. With her analysis, she identifies patterns in the narrative behaviors of groups.
In 2010, together with dr. Anneke Sools, she founded the Dutch Network for Narrative Research.Academic publications
